Royal Mail has announced they are increasing their Domestic Parcel Prices and Air Carrier Supplements from 1st April 2021 and some of their International product prices from 1st May 2021.
These Royal Mail price increases refer to untracked services, and will therefore impact the UK prices charged by the Down Stream Access companies. Their rates are heavily dependent on the Royal Mail Access Rate which is what Royal Mail charges them to complete the final mile of the delivery. We have a contract in place with The Delivery Group and have negotiated good competitive rates.
What does it mean?
So, what will the impact of the Royal Mail price increases be on your business?
The Delivery Group (Large Letters and Parcels – Partially Tracked)
The Delivery Group will increase their rates from 1st April, in line with Royal Mail, by between 6% and 15% depending on the format and weight. They have not increased their logistics cost which is their proportion of the rate they charge us.
Other Carriers – (Including Parcelforce, Yodel, and DPD)
We anticipate an increase in rates over the coming months, but as yet, we have not been notified.
For overseas mail, we no longer use Royal Mail as we now offer the eTrak service, a joint venture between The Delivery Group and Parcel Monkey for all international deliveries. For more information, please see our recent blog posts on our website here.
Royal Mail Tracked Services
Our Royal Mail Tracked 24 and 48 rates are on a contract that is not due to be renewed until the beginning of July. There will be no increase until then.
